Melissa Varallo is a 13-year music industry veteran with experience in A&R, artist development, publishing, booking and career coaching.  She has had the privilege of working as an executive in A&R for EMI Nashville for producers such as Mark Bright, Dann Huff, Csaba Petocz, and Frank Rodgers.

Melissa says, ‘My experience at EMI was truly remarkable; it was a very exciting time there -- we were developing songwriters and artists such as Phil Vassar, Jamie O’Neal, Darryl Worley, Dillon Dixon, Brad Paisley, Blackhawk and many more…. and little did I know that my experience was setting the stage for amazing things to come!’

‘So…when I began The Muse Agency, I compiled a team of the best of the best.  I wanted to create a situation for unstoppable success, and it’s important to me that everyone who contributes to The Muse Agency ‘s artists has excelled in the areas they’re coaching. If you are learning to write songs, chances are that your teacher will be an award-winning songwriter.  If you are being developed for live performance, recording studio technique and vocal coaching, Jaime Babbitt’s resume speaks for itself. She’s done everything from singing for thousands of hours in recording studios to developing talent for Disney to touring nationwide.’

‘Everyone in the music industry has a passion, and my true passion is recognizing raw potential in artists and being part of the team that helps develop that potential.  I believe that outside influences are crucial when it comes to molding an artist into a superstar. The process is magical and the first time you see the artist you’ve worked with hit the stage, the rush is unbelievable.  I LOVE being in the dream making business!’

JAIME BABBITT

MUSICAL DIRECTOR/ ENTERTAINMENT CAREER COACH

Many business executives (including Bill Gates) rely on career coaches to help them keep focused on their work at hand. In the entertainment community, artists usually look toward managers, agents and talent bookers for their expertise with regard to the ‘business’ side of the music business. The question, until recently, remained: who can artists look toward for guidance regarding the ‘creative’ side of the music business?

In keeping with The Muse Agency’s objective to honor and nurture the artist’s career in live performance, it was only natural that Jaime would become the newest member of the team.  After working in New York City as a live singer (gigging with various bands from New York to Chicago to Florida) and as a studio singer and musical coach for children age 6 and up (her TV and radio commercials include Folger’s, Sears and Diet Coke; her album background vocals credits include George Strait, Courtney Love and several Disney soundtracks), Jaime decided to further expand her horizons and moved to Nashville in mid-2005.

Straight from a fantastic 18-month run as backup vocalist/percussionist for Leon Russell to a prestigious and rewarding job in Los Angeles as Musical Director/Career Coach for a hot new band signed to Disney Records (involved in every aspect of the band’s growth from song arrangement to stage movement), Jaime is now working with up-and-coming artists in many facets of the entertainment business: vocal coaching, live performance techniques, studio singing techniques and general career coaching for those getting ready for the next exciting phase of their professional lives. She’s thrilled to be sharing her vision with The Muse Agency and looks forward to assisting lots of talented singers and musicians by sharing her expertise with them and helping them become the stars of tomorrow!
